      如果不是导师邀请作者到家里做讲座，我可能永远不会读这本书…话说回来，这本书写得还不错，至少文字清新，文风朴实。还讨论了中国人熟悉的李约瑟。作者本人也很幽默，很健谈。

      这是在学术路上第一次和伙伴们在老师指导下翻译的学术书，实际上在看到这本书之前根本不知道原来熟识的诸多英国和欧洲学者聚在一起，共同为了一个目标而进行一项红色运动，这在某种程度上补充了个人对于20世纪早期的共产主义运动、国际纵队与科学、社会之间的互动的一环。
